Why Ledger Live?

Ledger Live is the official app to manage your Ledger device, view balances, and send/receive crypto while private keys remain on the device.

Before you begin

Only use the Ledger device and cables included in the box.
Ledger Live will never ask for your recovery phrase — never enter it into software or websites.
Keep the recovery phrase written on paper and stored safely offline.

Download & Install

Download Ledger Live from the official Ledger site or the official app stores.
Run the installer, then open Ledger Live.

First-time device setup

Power on the device, choose "Set up as new device" (or restore if you have an existing recovery phrase).
Create a secure PIN — never share it.
Write down the recovery phrase and store it offline.

Pair with Ledger Live

Open Ledger Live > Add Device > follow prompts to connect and unlock your device by PIN.
Allow the Manager when asked to install blockchain apps.
Update firmware and apps via Ledger Live when prompted.

Security best practices

Never share your 24-word recovery phrase.
Only download Ledger Live from ledger.com.
Be cautious of phishing and fake Ledger apps; always verify official pages.

Troubleshooting

If Ledger Live cannot connect: try different USB cable/port, ensure device is unlocked, temporarily disable VPN/firewall/antivirus, and consult Ledger support.
